1st day in taiwan!
***UPDATED!!***
(didnt know quite a no. of people want me to update. teehee.)

BLOGGINGGG FROM TAIWAN :D
wahlaozzzz, i didnt even know that the hotel has free internet access! if not i would have come here earlier!~.~

day 1
took a 5 hour plane ride to taoyuan international airport flying china airlines.
its actually quite ok. but the budget thing was my stupid controller was spolit and the only movie i saw was ghost rider!! plus when you request for a coke, they dont give you a can. they give you one pathetic 3/4 filled cup ._.

upon arriving, we met our tourguide and he brought us to Shi Lin to try some taiwanese snacks!
no, not the small maroon stall you find in shopping centres. THE REAL DEAL!!! its just like those malaysia stalls. i tried fried chicken (大雞排), smelly tofu (臭豆腐), sheng jian pao bao (水煎包) and AUTHENTIC pearl milktea! AND THE SMELLY TOFU IS REALLY VERY SMELLY. the moment you take afew steps into the Shi Lin market, you can smell the tofu. it smells like those sewage drains! but taste like normal tofu. the chicken was fab!! it only costs 40元, which is about $2?! CHEAPER+NICER than the stall in Singapore!

Day 2
after breakfast, we went to Yeliu Scenic Area to see the unique geological features. here, some of the rocks are uniquely shape and the most popular one is called the Queen's head. which i think honestly, do not look like a Queen's head in anyway. it was quite boring luh, since im not a geog student and i dont understand how the rocks are formed.. blablabla.

next, we had to travel to Hualien by train. according to the tour guide, he said that the train ride would be better as there was going to be alot of whindy roads along the way. the trains and train tracks looks like those in australia! haha.
upon arriving, we went to have our early dinner at this restaurant. they give you this bamboo thing filled with glutinous rice, prawn and mushroom, and you have to keep hitting it against a rock until it cracks open. (see picture to understand)
i only ate half of it since my mum said it will cause indigestion, and the dinner served was like 7 dishes?!

in the night time, we went to watch this Ami aboriginal culture show. to me it was boring, cause all they do is the usual traditonal dance, then they will invite the audience to play along with them and stuff. although there was this part where the guys came out nearly naked!! they only had a cloth covering that part. -_-

Day 6

hah. now is 00.18 and im now at DeBao Business Hotel! (weird name, i know!)
today we went to climb Ah Li Shan. suprisingly, i managed to stay awake for the whole journey. because nearly everyone in the bus was sleeping due to the 3 hrs ride up the moutain. not to mention that i didnt get motion sickness and puke! :D (ok lah, i took 1pill that prevents motion sickness ~.~)
when we arrived at Ah Li Shan, we took another mini bus to reach another higher point. from there, we were given time to tracked down slowly to admire the nature surrounding us. after
that we had lunch and our next stop was to go to Sun Moon Lake. we first went to visit the Wen Wu temple, which is dedicated to Confucius and Guandi.

anyway, the tour guide wanted to charge 300yuan/person to sit this cruise which was so called added on to the itinerary. my mum and i didnt go cause i thought is a waste of money! we were the only 2 in the whole tour that didnt go -_- we walked around and manage to find a sta-si-ba-ke and had a coffe + cake. our tourguide treat us to this 阿婆茶叶蛋 (Ah Po's tea eggs). the aroma and taste of the egg is damn freaking nice, and i recommend it to anyone who comes by Sun Moon Lake!!

our next destination was this aboriginal shop that sells honey. but as usual, we didnt buy anything -.-
by the time we left it was around 7.30?!!
it was going to take us like an hour plus more before we reach our next destination. so a number of us were quite pissed off. along the way, i saw many of these transparent huts. ( dunno how to describe... is like those QB hairdressing shop, where you can see through. ) inside were these young woman in like undergarments?! i thought they were... you know... looking for business at night. but turns out they were selling beetlenuts! our tourguide stopped at one of these huts and bought 2 boxes. before that he told us that he going to ask the seller to come on the bus to take photo with us. i thought it was those old pek with those traditional costumes coming on board, MEI XIANG DAO is a young woman (around 20) wearing undergarments with a lacy see-through skirt. i was obviously shocked! O_O but the guide told us that this how the taiwanese wear their "uniform" at night to sell these things.

heh, so the girl had to pose with all the ti koe(s) and ti bu(s) before she got off the bus. had dinner and we went to the night market after that for 1hr to shop around and now im at the hotel with FREE INTERNET! hahah.
