Penang Day 1
Now that I'm report free, presentation free and test free, I shall update my already dead blog.I hate that the most of my content are taken from somewhere else. :( I no longer do those what-I-did-today post that people couldn't care less about. Anyway, I shall blog about the Penang trip during the December holidays!
Day 1
My mum and I took a coach from KL to Buttersworth bus terminal since it is one of the more convenient ways of reaching Penang island. From there we took a cab to Georgetown, the city area of Penang, where our hotel was located. Most taxi driver charge a flat rate of 25RM to go to any location from the bus terminal, but you can try bargaining 5RM off.
We stayed at Traders Hotel, and located beside it was a newly built shopping mall called First Avenue. It isn't fully opened yet, but there were afew shops that were operating, such as our favourite Kim Gary! But I honestly think that the quality of food at the Vivo branch is better!
The half eaten curry looks unappetizing, the taste is soso only. If you're ever there, try the pork cheese baked rice instead.
The hotel room and toilet!
Doing corny tourist-y pose is a most for overseas trip! Hahaha. This was taken at Trader's, while waiting for a shuttle bus to take us to Golden Sands Resort, which is beside Batu Feringgi Beach.
Golden Sands Hotel is like my most FAVOURITE RESORT in Penang. I haven't been there for like 8 years, and it still ranks #1 in my list. Lots of good memories with the family.
This was the hotel beside Golden Sands. I don't remember the name, but I do know is newly renovated and really pretty.
All the resorts are lined up in a row along the beach. So you can easily go into the resort hopping.
The weather in Penang is great, especially in the late afternoon where the sun isn't that strong and it gets really windy. There are lots of vendors on the beach offering foot massages, manicure, jetskiing, parasailing and viper (apparently a modified version of the banana boat). And the trick to getting a better equipment/longer time is to not decide straight away, but to take your time and decide. Eventually they'll give you some special offer. Ok maybe not special, but a different "offer" from what is written on their price list. Like at first it was 50RM for small parachute for 20min, then it became medium parachute for 30min. Apparently the bigger the parachute, the higher you'll go. I did go pretty high, but I reckon it didn't take 30min.
Gearing up!!!
Up, up and away I go! The feeling is fucking amazing, seriously. Like one moment you're on the ground, the next moment you're slowly walking and being lifted off the ground and into the air!!!!
The overall experience is super shiok, and you have this amazing view when you're up there! The only bad thing is that maybe your down there will feel uncomfortable because of harness.
My camera died by evening time so I didn't get to take any pictures of our dinner. There is this food trail map available at hotels, where they have recommendations on where to what. So the good thing about staying at the town area, is that you can easily walk to the different road side stalls for different dishes. I think we went to 4 different places that night just to try their recommendations.
But I must say the food there is really good and authentic, but I think our stomachs were not adapted to it. o_o Be prepared to go to the toilet.
