Gadget destroyer
So yesterday I didn't close my water bottle cap properly, and this resulted in 1/8th of my bag filled with water. Can you imagine how fucked up is it when I realized that my handphone, camera and iPod WERE DRENCHED!?!? I mean I had accepted my fate as being a wallet loser and gadget destroyer, but I still died a little when I saw what happened.

What worried me the most was my iPod. Because firstly, that stupid thing can't be opened easily so I can't take out the battery on the spot. Secondly, it started flashing all sorts of things on the screen like this monochrome "Do Not Disconnect" with a tick. Lastly, I couldn't switch off that little shit. So naturally I knew it was a goner out all of my drowned gadget. BUTTTT I have not given up yet, I read on some forums that its still possible for your iPod to be revived after a few days. So I am patiently waiting it out. My phone, which was on at that point, was actually ok.. till the screen started flashing and I immediately pulled out the battery. Here's some advice for those whom may face wetting/drowning your gadgets in the future. I wished someone had to me this before I attempted to dry it with a hairdryer.

1. Switch if off. If it's off, just pull out the battery and dry all the components ASAP.

2. DO NOT USE A HAIR DRYER TO DRY YOUR PHONE. Which was one of the first things I did, cause I vaguely remembered my dad doing this last time my LG fell into the drain. (YES IT SURVIVED!!!!! And its my current phone till my Motorola is working again.)

3. Put in your device in a container with silica gel packets (the small "DO NOT EAT" packets). If you don't have those, put it in rice for the time being and run to Daiso to purchase one. Rice apparently absorbs the remaining moisture left in your gadget.

4. Leave it for a few days then test your gadget. If it works, congrats! If it doesn't, fuck your life. Maybe you can wait for a few months and try again.

Hope this helps! My camera is working normally, now I'm waiting for my phone and iPod to be tested before I fly off to HK!
